Avenal Tactical - Luis Bernardez Memorial Match

Avenal Tactical PRS SW Region matches are some of the most physically challenging matches on the calendar.
With a 4-6 mile hike depending on which stage you start on, plus the steep grade make it one you definitely want to be in shape for.

These matches were especially special this weekend as they are dedicated to the founder of what became Avenal Tactical.

The rimfire match was held on Saturday afternoon with targets ranging from 50 to 350 yards, and wind varying from 8-15mph. Things were sporty, but everything was definitely within reach. In the end Mark from WCLR edged out Jon Bibb(MD for the weekend) to take his first PRS 1-day win ever. Great job Mark.

Centerfire started early the next day at 745am, with winds a little calmer, in the 4-10mph range, but definitely switchy as the day went on. When all was said and done Brian Lopina took the win, edging out Alan Neeley by 2 points.
I watched Alan zero the first stage, by chasing elevation, but he cleaned house for the rest of the day. That’s two second places in a row for Alan, but a win is definitely certain in the near future.
